Bridge Foundation promotes best practices implemented by people, institutions, community groups, and government programmes which support UN sustainable development agenda.
The Foundation’s has proven experience in promoting SDG# 13 at Knowledge Fair 2013 within areas of mitigation of climate change (CC), conservation of biodiversity (BD), protection of international waters (IW), reduction of the use of chemicals and Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs), prevention of land degradation (LD), promotion of sustainable forest management (SFM) and generation of sustainable livelihoods. The knowledge fair included a a local community exchange selling and showcasing local products at Green on the Avenue .
Local & Regional Facilitation for Environmental Protection & Sustainability
Schools: Bridge Foundations started environmental sustainability work though the design and execution of the R2R Green Space Project which offered children and families the opportunity to engage in environmental asset mapping and shared their strategies on a community platform - on stage.
Youth: The ENVIROMENTOR initiative supports young adults committed to saving the environment who require support to guide their efforts and encourage their community engagement.
Local and Regional Partnerships: The Foundation also partnered with NGO’s on issues of carbon-sequestration and facilitated the local Caribbean Philanthropic Alliance of Trinidad and Tobago (CPATT) which is part the Regional CPA network to realize their vision of planting 1 million trees in the Caribbean by 2021. As Country Representative for T &T, the Foundation created a youth environmental advoacy group - PlantYuhRoots and facilitated their participation in Sustain TT Green Screen Festival. In 2021, The Foundation as national executing partner with Project Coordinator and PYR team members organized with CZITT a World Forest Day event in March 2021 - (2) Facebook. Bridge Foundation supports other local institutions and participation of honorable members to event.
