R2R Green Space Start Up
The Read to Rise ((R2R) process provides the opportunity for students to participate in an interactive knowledge building process that raises students and their families environmental awareness, validates their environmental experiences, and creates a community platform for their perspectives and solutions to be heard.
R2R Green Space strategy is based on knowledge building methodology which draws on the current experiences and builds upon what children and their families already experience in their communities.
Start Up workshops will introduce participants to R2R student-centered instruction and provide learning materials to replicate R2R programs in schools and in other learning environments.
R2R tools will include learning charts, teacher companion guides, student-centered strategy guide on how to create a literature-rich classroom environments. Methods of collaborative writing with students to develop culturally relevant children’s books will be shared by local and international authors, including Bridge Foundation staff and consultants.
R2R Green Space Start up workshops will provide modules and curricula to create a school - community knowledge building environmental program. Trainings will be conducted by experienced educators, and environmental & sustainable development consultants.
R2R Phases
Phase 1: Bocas
Bocas is themed specifically to introduce students to local and Caribbean literature and authors.
Phase 2: Green Space
Green Space learning phase is geared towards the cultivation and promotion of environmental awareness to students.
Phase III: Science Wonder
The Science Wonder phase transposes students through vast imagination to real Life experiences. The science wonder books are used to create an excitable balance of what is impossible to possible while fundamentally introducing the building blocks and corner stone of science and mathematics.
